The Callisters aboard their Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42, preparing to explore the Caribbean.
For the Callisters, the dream has become a reality at last! After years of hard work, they have earned it. The Caribbean Multihulls team is so happy to accompany them on this adventure.
Three years after signing for their Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 at the Nautic Paris boat show, the boat has been delivered to them. Their journey will first start close to home, as they will first sail their boat to the Isle of Man. Later, they will be sailing through the Caribbean.
Mr Callister has been sailing monohulls with his father at a young age.
This time, he's found the perfect vessel to carry his wife and himself into the next chapter of their lives. After months of careful consideration, the Astrea 42 stood out as the best catamaran to explore the world together.
This February brought the long-awaited moment. In La Rochelle, the birthplace of Fountaine Pajot catamarans, their Astrea 42 was finally splashed in Port des Minimes. Caribbean Multihulls' Flagship Technical Officer and New yacht handovers Julian was there to make sure everything was going well, walking them through every detail.
After a warm welcome and even a selection of gourmet platters, Margot our experienced yacht coach guided them through essential maintenance and life aboard.
They've now set sail toward the Isle of Man.
Their plan? A year of self-training around their home island, getting to know their catamaran inside and out. Every sail raised, every anchor dropped, and every system tested will be another step toward their new life. Sailing a catamaran is different from a monohull and it is important to grasp the difference.
They will not just be learning how to handle the yacht; they will also learn how to live aboard, in a space that will soon be their home for years.
In a year, the Callisters will enjoy their well-deserved retirement. They will cross the Atlantic to reach the Caribbean.
The Caribbean, the trade winds, the turquoise waters, the freedom to explore island after island: it’s the kind of voyage many dream. St. Lucia, Martinique, the Grenadines and many more - there will be so many islands and coasts on their itinerary.
And what will come after the Caribbean? Perhaps they’ll explore the Pacific. That’s the beauty of a journey like this: there is no final destination, only the next adventure. With their Astrea 42, they have the freedom to go wherever the wind takes them.
Some dreams take years to build. The Callisters have worked hard toward theirs. If you’ve ever dreamed of leaving it all behind together with the person who matters most, perhaps it’s time to start planning.
