(July 5th, 2023)
Flush from the wild success of the fifth annual Caribbean Multihull Challenge Race and Rally, the Steering Committee for the CMC formally announces an increase of one-day more for racing and rallying during the 6th annual event to be held on the 1,2,3,4 of February 2024.
New records for 2023 are in the books - a 78% increase in entries from 18 catamarans and trimarans in 2022 to 32 in 2023 ; plus the introduction of a successful CMC cruising rally are only two facets of the CMC's 2023 achievement.
For racers, the new 4-day format will see a repeat of the three CSA 1 Trifecta distance races on three separate days; plus one extra day for shorter racing along the south coast of St Maarten.
Other CSA racing classes will see more of the same line up of courses from 2023 with more Racing added on the fourth day. For cruising salors, the extra day will allow a day visit to the uninhabited French island of Tintamarre and an overnight in Great Bay, then a Friday sail around SXM to the luxury of Saint Martin French side Anse Marcel, and for Saturday night a welcoming stay in St Barth's with a sail back to the SMYC in Simpson Bay on Sunday the 4th.
Registration for the 6th CMC Race and Rally is at Yachtscoring.com . Entry fees are posted there and the CMC is offering a 10% pourcent discount on registration for vessels that enter early.
