Explore the best new multihulls of 2025 – And why the New 41 stands out
Every year, Multihulls World hosts one of the most anticipated events in the sailing world: the Multihull of the Year (MOTY) election. This celebration of innovation and performance brings together the best new multihulls launched over the past year — and in 2025, the competition will be fiercer than ever.
Launched during the Miami boat show in February, the 2025 edition features 25 nominees across 6 key categories:
- Sail cruising
- Sail Performance
- Multipower
- Multiyacht
- International Multihull Show Premiere (Multihulls World jury only)
- Capt'n Boat (Professional skippers jury only)
The winners will be announced during the International Multihull Show in La Grande-Motte on April 23rd, with voting open until April 20th.
Spotlight on the Fountaine Pajot NEW 41 — A serious contender
Among the 2025 nominees, we’re thrilled to see the Fountaine Pajot NEW 41 competing in the Sail Sailing category — and for good reason. This catamaran is not just a replacement for the popular Lucia 40; it's a next-generation model designed from the ground up for modern liveaboard cruising.
What sets the NEW 41 apart?
- Improved volume and layout, especially in the saloon and owner's suite
- Dedicated forward cockpit — a rare feature in this size category
- Optional Smart Electric drive, making it one of the few eco-forward options under 45 feet
- A bright, modern interior design with multiple layout options including 3 or 4 cabins
Fountaine Pajot has clearly aimed this model at discerning cruisers who want maximum comfort in a manageable footprint — ideal for Caribbean sailing or even ocean passages when properly equipped.
