On Monday 13th of April, French president E. Macron has announced that lockdown will be renewed until the 11th of May. Borders with non-European countries will probably not reopen before July, depending on the evolution of the health situation.
The good news is that it appears that the number of Covid-19 cases in the country has reached a “plateau”, and the number of admissions to intensive care units globally started to decrease in French hospitals.
As far as Fountaine Pajot yard is concerned:
- 70 volunteers are back to the yard (vs 20 last week), and probably 110 next week. There is a strong willingness among collaborators to get back to work. At this pace, their estimates are of 40% of the workforce for the beginning of May.
Starting from this week and based on this scenario, Fountaine Pajot will be able to provide estimated dates for the upcoming deliveries. This is of course if no Covid-19 case is declared at the factory in the meantime, and if they can still keep a safe environment for all operators. - Suppliers/subcontractors are partially coming back to the yard as well.
- Fountaine Pajot Dealer Meeting will still stand on July 20th-21st 2020 but, given the international fluctuant health situation, the shipyard will exceptionally have to hold it online as a videoconference.
